Firm Profile

C. E. Anderson & Associates was established in 1995, as a full-service structural engineering consulting firm benefiting the architectural community. Since that time, we have grown to our current staff size of thirteen engineering professionals, plus support staff. Our four senior personnel have well over 125 years of combined engineering experience on a wide variety of building types. Our unique education and experience in both architecture and structural engineering provides us with an appreciation of the unique needs of all disciplines involved in the building design process, resulting in innovative and cost effective solutions to complex problems.

Our clients appreciate our ability to be sympathetic to both aesthetic requirements and program functions in designing structures. In addition to the two licensed architects in the office, almost all of the engineers have a strong background in architecture. Eleven of the personnel have Master of Architecture degrees, in addition to their engineering education. Because of this background, we are able to offer suggestions for architectural detail development as well as simplification. Our dual education enables us to conceive and develop the most appropriate solution for the architectural challenges we encounter. Our project involvement from the conceptual design phase assists our clients in developing architecturally pleasing, yet realistic, constructible and cost-effective designs.

Our project experience is varied and extensive. C.E. Anderson & Associates personnel have vast experience in the design of high-rise and low-rise structures. Building types include educational facilities; from elementary schools to high schools to university buildings. We have also done numerous municipal buildings, hospitals and medical research facilities, commercial office buildings, retail and restaurants, condominiums, multi-family housing, churches, hotels and banks. Our international projects include large-scale shopping malls, university buildings, and corporate research facilities. We have broad experience with all building materials, including concrete, steel, masonry, and wood, and we analyze each project individually to determine the most appropriate building material for the required function and aesthetics.
