Gundersen Lutheran Hospital

Architect: RTKL
Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin

The project consists of a new 169,000sf addition to the existing hospital complex. The new building, which is linked to the existing structure at all levels, contains five levels, a basement and a penthouse. The link levels have varying elevations because the existing building levels do not align with the new building levels. Levels one and two of the addition house the new Cancer Center. Two radiation therapy vaults and provision for a third are separately located at grade level. Level three houses the ophthalmology department and a small amount of unassigned space. Levels four and five are shelled space. Support services and mechanical spaces have been housed in the below grade basement level and in the penthouse.
