A 41,000 sq. ft. building which forms the fourth side of a courtyard surrounded by three existing U-shaped buildings. A 65,000 sq. ft. underground parking facility creates the base of the building and extends underneath the existing courtyard. The building houses student gathering spaces, administrative and faculty functions arranged on three floors. The second floor includes bridge links to two of the existing buildings. The structural framing elements are steel columns; composite steel floor framing and steel roof framing, all supported by concrete beams at the first floor. The parking garage slab and the concrete basement walls are supported on caissons.
