AMLI Evanston is a 5 story, plus basement, mixed-use podium building in Downtown Evanston, Illinois. The building is approximately 370,000 gsf, and is founded on concrete spread footings. Steel sheet piling is provided around the perimeter of the basement for earth retention.
The level one, mezzanine, and level 2 slabs are concrete post-tensioned two-way flat slabs. The level one and mezzanine levels are 7 inch thick parking and residential slabs. The level 2 transfer slab is 11 inches thick and supports the wood-framed residential levels and the brick masonry exterior walls above. The stair and elevator cores are 8” CMU walls and the residential levels are framed with wood floor truss members supporting plywood with a concrete topping on load-bearing wood stud walls. The lateral system consists of reinforced concrete shear walls up to level 2, with wood shear walls at the residential levels.
